Live In Medford Oregon and Bored to death?

People are always complaining that there is nothing to do in Medford. You find this hard to believe, but I can guarantee there is always something happening in Medford Oregon.

There are a handful of online event calendars covering Medford. But the one I like the most is from iseesouthernoregon.com. It is stuffed full of things that are happening all over Southern Oregon, from Ashland to Grants Pass, and that covers a lot of ground. Plus it has a really good Medford business directory

This event calendar is by far one of the most robust event calendars for the area. There are things happening every day of the week and you don't even know it. As long as it's legal it's listed in this event calendar.

This event calendar is awesome. Here is what I like about it.

1. It is broken out into main themes so that you can get to the meat and potato’s of what it is you are really interested in doing. It covers things from community events, theater and performances, live music, karaoke, dancing, classes, comedy shows in Medford OR, and many more. 2. You can search it. Finding specific events in specifc cities is easy with the search function. This feature is really nice as it is a major time saver. But you don't want to narrow yourself as far as options with this search feature. You will find something that sounds interesting.

3. Everyone is allowed to post an event. You do have to be a member in order to post an event, however, your membership is free.

This is far from being perfect. And the creators know this and are constantly tweaking it get it there. But there are a couple of features that would be really cool. And who knows, maybe those guys will end up reading this article and take these suggestions to heart.

1. I wish there was a way to subscribe to the calendar to get notifications of the types of events that I am interested in when they get posted. That way I can plan appropriately. This is especially critical for me as I have young children and finding sitters at the last moment is tough. This feature request could already be part of their site. If it is I must have missed it.

2. Get text messages about the types of events that I am interested in that are happening that day. Now this will probably make me sad more than anything as I will rarely be able to go to any of them on short notice, but hey, you never now.

Unfortunately I doubt either one of these will ever be added. It could get really expensive and this is a free service. Still, it would be pretty cool.
